December. My favourite month of the year! I haven’t had much of a chance to post anything since Halloween, and before that…I can’t even remember. I just checked in and noticed unanswered messages from over a month ago. Whoops! I’m sorry. Life gets busy, doesn’t it?
I guess this is my random update post. It’s been absolutely crazy around here, but not in a “I must announce things to the world” kinda way. Just in a normal family of five kinda way. We’ve been busy with school and work and just everyday stuff. I’m being forced to spend a couple of days in the office now, but I’m not complaining too much because I am being trained by a friend of ours. She knows what she’s doing. She also brings me coffee. I like coffee.
Along with the office duties, I also forced everyone to decorate a parade float.
And guess what…
We won! This was pretty exciting for us. Nick was pretty proud. I didn’t tell him that I thought it was just because they were happy to have new businesses participating. 😉 We brought tacky Christmas back! It was great!
This past weekend we had our company Christmas party here at the house. It was nice to see everyone and to start the festive season off right. It also taught Nick and I that we are not in fact 19 anymore. My head still hurts.
Today, I just finished packing for my trip to Costa Rica on Wednesday. Yes, I know what you’re thinking… What kind of mom of 3 little kids gets to hightail it out of the country during the busiest time of the year? This mom!! I have the best husband in the world! I’m super lucky that I get to go and celebrate my Aunt’s 60th birthday with some of my favourite women of all time. 4 out of the 5 of us have our birthdays in the next couple of weeks, so we have a lot of celebrating to do. I’m only slightly nervous about leaving Nick with the kids for that long. I know it’s going to be hard, but he’s tough! That and we live pretty close to his mom. 😉
I’ll be back just in time to finish up last minute shopping, wrapping and preparing for the big day. Last year’s “Skipping Christmas” trip was great fun, but it will be awesome to celebrate in our forever home. Guess what? I can say that now without freaking out either! It only took a year, but I can now say that Nick was right, that this is the greatest place in the world for our family. We love it! In the new year we’ll continue on with the renovations. Let the chaos begin (again) upstairs!
I’m going to miss these little monsters…
